From Pisa the “Food Managers” of the future
This is the first Master’s focused entirely on food and food quality and arises from the necessity to address the growing demand for highly qualified professionals able to operate in such a strategic sector of the Italian productive panorama.
The Italian food industry is the second most important manufacturing sector in the country and the agri-food sector can boast a positive performance, despite the economic crisis, thanks to the additional bonus of the “Made in Italy brand”.
Genuineness, food safety and attention to the quality both of products and the environment are topics of increasing pertinence in a world market unscathed by economic crisis where consumers are ever more aware and well-informed.
Expo 2015 in Milan is evidence of the relevance of this subject.
This Master’s degree in Food Quality Management and Communication aims to develop and deepen across the board technical-specialistic notions in order to create a high level managerial profile capable of satisfying the needs of companies working in this sector, from SMEs to major industrial groups.
The course will address aspects of a wide range of topics including legislation in this sector, marketing and communication, nutrition, the food supply chain, management control, food processes and technology .
The subject of quality will be examined in a specific training module managed directly by SGS Italy SpA (world leader in the field of certification ) at the end of which a Certificate of Lead Auditor in Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 will be issued.
The training course aims to provide the skills necessary to perform QMS audits according to the requirements of ISO 9001: 2015.
SGS is a world leader in inspection, analysis, verification and certification in a number of sectors including the agri-food sector which boasts a long history dating back to 1878. An increasing awareness of the importance of food safety and communication with the consumer makes a focus on the end-to -end supply chain paramount in order to ensure the quality of what we consume and improved business productivity. This is why it is particularly important to properly train staff specialised in quality management system audits. In this sense this Master’s degree combines excellent university teaching with the professionalism of SGS, a useful link with the world of work.
This Master’s degree is for first and second level graduates as well as professionals already working in this sector who wish to acquire or enhance the specific skills necessary to fulfill the role of Food Manager.
The course is part-time to facilitate the integration of study and work. Attendance of this Master’s earns 60 University Credits (ECTS).
